The NPCA (National Parks Conservation Association) tasked me with documenting Lassen Volcanic National Park for the cover story in the Spring 2016 edition of National Parks Magazine entitled “The Lassen Effect.” I spent three days in the park, rarely sleeping, shooting one of the most diverse landscapes I have ever seen.

It’s no secret that Tahoe is spectacular in the fall – the brilliant leaves, crisp air and uncrowded trails make it seriously magical. And bonus – the summer bugs are pretty much gone! Hiking Tahoe in October is pretty darn perfect, but hey, hiking can be dangerous, and hiking in the fall has its own risks. Even if you’re only heading out for an easy day hike, respect the backcountry.
