Bikes and Fuel: Bikepacking the Colorado Trail

Clocking in at over 500 miles (the majority of which is single track) with 72,000′ of elevation gain and an average elevation of 10,500′, bikepacking the Colorado Trail is no joke. With such traits, it has become one of the premiere bikepacking (like a self-supported backpacking trip but while carrying all of your gear on your bike instead of a backpack) in all of the US. This trip has been a dream of mine for years and this year the stars aligned, I found a partner willing to suffer with me and we went for it. It took us just less than 10 days to navigate the route through rain, hail, flat tires, sore knees and chaffed bums. But in-between small bouts of suffering, we were rewarded with miles of world class single track taking you through some of the most beautiful scenery Colorado has to offer. To anyone who is remotely interested in such an adventure, put this one on your list. Trust me, you wont regret it.
