Why 1,000 Miles of Trail?
At Tahoe Trail Bar, we have always been passionate about getting back to nature and enjoying a good trail. There’s something healing about a hike through the mountains or an awesome mountain biking experience. We’ve also been passionate about engaging with nonprofit organizations near the regions in which we operate. After a while, it became clear what we had to do.
We’ve been donating to organizations backed by 1% For The Planet for years, but now our mission has become more focused than ever. There are a number of worthy causes that deserve support, and some that change the game entirely. We have identified a few of the most efficient trail-building organizations in the Sierra Nevada region and have committed to working with them to advance our most ambitious goal to date:
We’re going to build 1,000 miles of trail in 10 years!
A Lasting Legacy
This is about more than charitable giving or a logo on our packaging. This is about leaving a legacy. For generations to come, the trails that we build could become a mainstay for outdoor adventures.
As we grow and expand our operations, it will become even more important to give thanks to the communities we serve. In order to accomplish the feat of building 1,000 miles of trail in ten years, we will donate 1% of our revenue to efficient trail-building nonprofits. Additionally, our staff are authorized to go on trail-building days themselves to get their hands dirty and help the cause.
It’s our goal and wish to build your new favorite trail. Every bar we sell gets us a little closer to that goal. In fact, every time a 12-pack of bars is sold on our website, we build trail equivalent to the length of the box. That’s something we can all feel good about!
