Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility is a business movement which encourages ethical business practices that reduce environmental impact and promote healthy labor standards. At Tahoe Trail Bar, we believe in the healing power of a trail and putting only the best foods in your body. To this end, our plant based energy bars are gluten free, and Non-GMO Project Verified.
When it comes to preserving the outdoors, we are adamant about protecting the Tahoe and Sierra regions. We are a member of 1% for the Planet, donating one percent of sales to organizations dedicated to building and maintaining trails in the region. About 3 million people visit Lake Tahoe every year and far more visit the region, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, and one with a special place in our hearts.
Because of this, our goal is to build or maintain 1,000 miles of trail in the next ten years. You heard that right, 1,000 miles; 5.28 Million feet! Each box of bars sold equates to one step on this incredible journey. We partner with the best and most efficient trail builders in all of the regions in which we operate to ensure our contributions build the most trail possible. Join us, and enjoy your #FuelForTheJourney.
Sourcing clean ingredients verified by the Non-GMO Project is of the highest priority for us. You can be assured we do not use any genetically modified ingredients in our products. Click here to read about what being Non-GMO verified means to us.
We are proud to be a member of 1% for the Planet and committed to giving back 1% of our revenue to organizations that build trails in the Tahoe and Sierra regions. We believe in the healing power of a trail in the wilderness and its power to allow you to disconnect from your busy life. Read more about our partnership with 1% for the Planet.
We choose to create vegan fuel so that we can reduce our impact on the environment as well as our bodies. Studies have shown that the most environmentally friendly diet is one centered on plant based nutrition. We take this seriously and do everything we can to encourage others to reduce the number of meals they consume with meat and dairy. Snacking vegan on a trail or during a busy commute is just a little easier with a Tahoe Trail Bar in hand.
For those with Celiac Disease, other autoimmune disorders, or gluten sensitivity, going gluten free isn't much of a choice if you want to feel your best. For everyone else, there can be marked health benefits to eating gluten free. When you avoid gluten, most people tend toward foods that are better for them as a substitute. There are also some studies that a gluten free diet improves mental focus and helps you feel less groggy. We feel that providing gluten free energy bars as options to our customers is the right thing to do. We aim to reduce allergens and improve ingredient quality wherever possible to ensure our loyal customers can count on us as their go-to daily snack bar.
Our people are the lifeblood of our organization. They work hard every day to bring you the best fuel on the market. There are more perks to working at Tahoe Trail Bar than free bars. From trail days to participating in #OptOutside and more, there's always something fun around the corner. Tahoe Trail Bar also believes in providing fair wages and investing in educational opportunities for our people.
Wherever we can, we source recyclable materials. Our master case shippers and 12-pack caddies are fully recyclable, as are each and every box and mailer we use to fulfill online orders. Tahoe Trail Bar is passionate about recycling and about finding new uses for old items around our warehouse and offices.
Our bars are manufactured in the United States and, by weight, more than 90% of our ingredients are sourced from within the USA.
